Certified Nurses Day!3/19/2026 At Greater North Carolina Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (GNCSGNA), we are incredibly proud of our certified members. Your commitment strengthens our community and elevates the care we provide across North Carolina and beyond. Today, we proudly celebrate Certified Nurses Day: a day dedicated to recognizing the commitment, knowledge, and excellence of nurses who have gone above and beyond to earn professional certification.
Every March 19, employers, certification boards, education facilities, and healthcare providers celebrate and publicly acknowledge nurses who earn and maintain the highest credentials in their specialty. Certified Nurses Day honors nurses worldwide who contribute to better patient outcomes through national board certification in their specialty. Within gastroenterology, certification through the CGRN® (Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse) credential represents more than just letters after a name. It reflects a deep dedication to advancing clinical expertise, improving patient outcomes, and upholding the highest standards of care in our specialty. Certified GI nurses are leaders, educators, and advocates. They bring confidence and precision to complex procedures, contribute to safer patient care, and serve as mentors who inspire the next generation of GI professionals. More than 70 organizations participated in the first Certified Nurses Day by signing the proclamation and sponsoring annual events including:
To those who are certified: THANK YOU for your dedication. To those considering certification: this is your sign. Invest in yourself, your patients, and your future. Together, we are truly Rooted in Care: Growing the Future of GI.
